Nothing Left to Lose
By Mat Kearney
Where Do We Go From Here?
see relatedOne Day of Lazy
- I was off today.
- Therefore, I lost track of time, and read to my heart's content. Yay.
- If I have to hear how wonderful Mike Huckabee is from "evangelicals" one more time.... I'm going to scream.
- Whilst I was upstairs, I got a text message that confuses me and I have a need to understand it...only I will have to wait until morning.
- Tomorrow it shall rain. More reading shall commence.
- There is a package of Strawberry Pop-tarts on my desk. Really, there is.
- Ever heard that song "Hallelujahs" by Jeff Buckley or kd Lang?? I love it. Both versions.
- The world has one less squirrel in it thanks to me today.
- Target is a fun place to kill an hour at 9am.
- I talked to Mom and Dad today. I enjoyed both conversations muchly.
- Micah cracks me up. The other night, he was upset about something and none of us could understand what he was saying. Turns out he was telling us his milk was broken. That would be because his cup had water in instead of milk, therefore, broken.
- The more I pray about it and think about it, the more my heart is tied to the idea of adopting.
- Have I mentioned how dangerous it is for me to cruise in the iTunes store?
- It's like letting me loose in B&N with 50$. Yikes.
- This is the week of two paychecks. nifty good news.
- Have you ever noticed that true humility is really the core of every human's struggle?
- I was supposed to make a couple of phone calls today. But for some reason I just didn't want to be on the phone.
- Tonight, as we sat in the living room watching TV, Jen was chilling and I was reading, Vic didn't have anything to say so it was quiet. He piped up and said, "So I thought women were supposed to be talkative and like never stop talking about their day, but you two are just sitting there"
- We laughed b/c neither of us had much to say.
- So I heard that the all-knowing weather predictor, Groundhog Bill from Puxasomethingoranother, PA indicated that there would be Six more weeks of winter.
- There are, however, buds on the trees here, saying "SPRING'S COMING!" Explain that mister Groundhog weather vane animal! :P
- Single's Awareness Day looms. And I have bought the appropriate cardage for those loved ones who get Happy Day wishes and other appropriately defaming cards for said holiday.
- So....rumor has it, I'm fast on my way to turning into a cynic. What say you?
- Everyone keeps asking me about my job. I can't explain what I do. Really can't unless you were to just do it.
- But the best descriptions: being a mom, big sister, facilitator, mediator, teacher, wrangler, shepherdess, charm school tutor, life skills helper, time-out giver, and much more.....and we basically provide a stable enviornment for some sincerely damaged children to work through their issues. And providing that stability is not easy at times.
- It is a job, though, that makes me incredibly grateful for the blessed life I have led, God has been far too gracious to me for me to not be.
- My mom calls me "grace" sometimes, b/c that's my middle name. I like it when she does.
- That's the end of my randomness for the moment.
- Except...."Where do we go from here?"

Quite random, but I agree with your statement on Mike Huckabee. Most of the people I know think he is the greatest thing to happen to politics. I, however, am not buying the lie. He's a politician, enough said.
um, i KNOW mike huckabee. sorry.
target IS a good place to spend some time, or a lot of time, if you have an overabundance of such stuff.
ah, reading. love it, love it, love it.
@ehrinn_l - you know him? well then...that's interesting. and perhaps different....if he's been to your house for dinner or something....I just don't like the constant pedestal placing. it annoys me. and I don't like feeling manipulated by a campaign manager that's preying on evangelicals. It's like some trump card in the back pocket they're playing. It's annoying in all the elections. :)
yes, reading....mmmmhmmm...
@cincyredsfan38 - Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! :)
Huckabee frightens me. He's fiscally irresponsible, I think he manipulates the evangelicals to get their votes and I just don't trust him. Then again, I'm more of an Obama fan myself. Just so long as it's not Hilary
Cynicism's underrated. Everyone needs a healthy dose of skepticism in their lives. Of course, I work in a field where the motto is "if your mother tells you she loves you, get a second opinion."
Interested to hear about the text message. Curiosity is piqued...send me a facebook message if you get a chance

The Groundhog is in Punxsatawney (sp?) . . . as everyone should know from 'Groundhog Day,' one of the greatest, smartest and even most spiritual comedies every made.
Squirrel killer.
@thedubbs - I agree whole heartedly about your opinion of "manipulative" campaigning. Yes!
The FB msg is coming. But it's not what you think. :)
I did actually know what the Groundhog's name real was...I just can't spell it. And didn't want to risk embarassment....so I made something up. :) he he!
*takes a bow* - thanks for the new title.
i can't seem to make up my mind about huckabee. one minute i think he's the least awful of them all... the next i think i don't want to vote for him for some of the reasons you all have mentioned... and though he is conservative on social issues, when it comes to the fiscal aspect of things he seems to be more liberal... so yeah... i just don't know what to think of the guy. and i'm afraid you are probably right about the manipulation of the "evangelical" voters.
hello again.... i like your post and how you put it in a bulleted list form... quite interesting!! Groundhog Bill huh? That's his name? Bill? lol
@mikedawwgXizor - It's actually "Punxatawney Bill" if you want the proper name. :)
Thanks!
I think everyone is in danger of becoming a cynic once or twice in there life. It's seems normal too me. ~ L
Squirrel killer, is it? A fascinating and grotesque story seems to be lurking there somewhere...
Did I mention I like reading your random bullet-point posts? I do.
@LaDamedeShallot - no story really. he just ran into my tire and died. only I didn't know he had. It upset my sis-in-law.
I'm glad you enjoy the posts. They seem to be a fan favorite. I'm not sure why...but it's cool. I like writing them.
I thought it was Punxatawney Phil....
Anywho, Just because you see buds, does not mean that spring is around the corner. Let me break it down for you :) Oct-Feb Cold and snowy... it will let up for 4 weeks max and then again in March and in April killer snow storm.... don't really expect Spring until May :D (Maybe the end of April if you are lucky)
Luv Ya!
I love strawberry pop tarts!
And well at least it's one less squirrel an d not one less human :P
Hey Amanda, I'm not sure what you mean by hearing about how great Mike Huckabee is "from evangelicals." I don't care who it's from, really. If you mean that you are tired of hearing that Huck is great BECAUSE he's an evangelical, I totally agree. It's the same as the wacko's who think Hillary can run the country because she was the husband of a president or McCain can because he was a POW. None of those things may be bad, but they certainly don't make one prepared to run a country. *rolls eyes* Voters are so ignorant these days.
RYC: I appreciate your comment and your thoughts. While I agree to a certain extent, I can't say I am fully with you on this. We all need to be careful not to be demeaning to people who have views apart from ours, but truth is truth. There are such things as moral absolutes and I believe kissing to be one of them. I'm posting more on this...
How are you liking Virginia so far?
Blessings,
JC
